Noni Madueke: Chelsea Agree on £29M Deal To Sign PSV Eindhoven Forward

Premier League giants Chelsea are closing in on signing Nigeria-eligible winger, Noni Madueke from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

Reports have suggested the deal is almost completed and Madueke is now preparing to travel to England to complete the transfer.

The 20-year-old began his youth career with English club, Crystal Palace and then moved to Tottenham Hotspur before dumping them for PSV Eindhoven in 2018.

At PSV, the youngster became an important part of the squad and established himself as a regular during the 2020-2021 campaign.

He scored nine goals in 35 games last season but there are concerns that the Dutch club might not want to sell him, having seen Cody Gakpo join Liverpool.

Further findings have it that Chelsea are insistent on Madueke's signature, even though the Stamford Bridge club already spent £270-million in the summer since Todd Boehly took over the reigns.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol said on The Transfer Show:

"We could go on and on about how many player Chelsea have signed. There’s been lots of debate about how they’re going to comply with various Financial Fair Play [FFP] rules."

Solhekol said it would be interesting to learn the contract length of Madueke.

“We’ve seen Chelsea sign players on five, six, seven, eight-year contracts to spread out the cost of the deals, in order to comply with UEFA and Premier League FFP rules. That’s one to look out for.”

Madueke was born in Barnet, England to Nigerian parents and is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles.
