According to the Daily Mail, the west Londoners now look on course to sign Felix during the ongoing January transfer window, to help strengthen Graham Potter's attacking line.

The Portugal international has widely been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United initially understood to be the leading contenders for his services.

Chelsea favourites to sign Felix

However, fresh reports indicate that Chelsea are the strong favourites to sign the former Benfica star - albeit temporarily.

According to The Athletic, a verbal agreement has already been reached between the involved parties, although a deal is yet to be reached.

The publication claims the Londoners will pay a loan fee of £9.68-million (€11-million) to seal the transfer of the Portuguese star.

The development comes at a time when Felix is struggling for form, having scored just four goals and provided three assists in 14 La Liga appearances.

The 23-year-old joined Atletico back in 2019 for £113-million, the fourth-highest transfer fee in football history.

Abidjan want Fofana transfer cancelled

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on new Chelsea signing, David Datro Fofana's boyhood club Abidjan City writing to FIFA to cancel his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Fofana is among three players who have sealed January moves to the west London club, with Graham Potter desperate to strengthen his team in the second half of the season.

It is reported that the Ivory Coast-based outfit have already sent correspondence to the world football governing body, urging them to cancel the transfer amid claims Fofana's original transfer to Molde was not according to procedure.
