  • Chelsea have been on a frustrating run of form that has seen them pick just one win in seven outings
  • The team's poor performance has been greatly impacted by their long list of injured players
  • At least 10 key Chelsea players are currently sidelined, with N'Golo Kante and Reece James headlining a list of players on the treatment table

Chelsea have endured a horrible run of form under Graham Potter, with the west Londoners at risk of missing out on a Champions League spot at the end of the season.

The Blues have managed just one win in seven of their most recent fixtures across competitions.

According to the Daily Star, the woeful run of form has seen Potter's charges drop to 10th in the Premier League standings.

So frustrating Chelsea's run has been that Potter has found himself on the receiving end, with a section of fans calling for his sacking.

However, the Blues' woes are largely down to an injury crisis which has hit the team in recent weeks.

To put this into perspective, the team is just one defender away from having an injured XI that is so formidable that it would likely challenge for a spot in the Champions League.

Which Chelsea player is injured?

Chelsea are already without 10 key players, including first-choice goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.

In defence, Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, and Reece James are all injured, while N'Golo Kante headline a list of midfielders who are on the treatment table.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount are also currently sidelined alongside Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic.

Meanwhile, Potter's men will be back in action on Sunday, January 8, when they take on Man City in the FA Cup.

Guardiola backs Potter for Chelsea job

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester City Head Coach Pep Guardiola has asked Chelsea owners to give embattled boss Graham Potter time to implement his policies at the club.

Potter is facing arguably the toughest time of his managerial career as Chelsea continues to post unsatisfactory results. Chelsea's season hit a new low as Guardiola's side picked them apart on January 8th to knock them out of the FA Cup.

It was the third time that Guardiola got the better of Potter's Chelsea this season with the Blues trailing by three goals to nil by half-time.
