Fabregas Tells Chelsea to Sign Dani Olmo From RB Leipzig

Chelsea are currently undergoing a squad overhaul and rebuild under new ownership, led by American businessman Todd Boehly, with changes are also happening among backroom staff.

The Blues spent £272m last summer and are set to spend heavily again in the coming windows.

Some departures are also set to occur, with some aged members of the squad like Jorginho and Ngolo Kanté likely to leave the club when their contracts expire.

Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig has already been signed and will move to London in the summer, with the Blues are also interested in his young teammate Josko Gvardiol, who impressed with his defending at the World Cup.

Former midfielder Cesc Fabregas has now advised the club to look for more players at the German club. Spanish attacker Dani Olmo is one player he has specifically recommended.

Fabregas calls for Leipzig 'raid'

Chelsea announced the appointment of a new technical director in Christopher Vivell recently, who was in a similar role at Leipzig until months ago.

Fabregas has now advised the Blues to look at the Bundesliga club again, this time to poach another of their players in Spanish attacker Olmo.

He made the comment during a Twitter Q&A.

Olmo scored a goal and assisted in another goal, despite Spain crashing out in the round of 16 at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Fabregas reveals next career path

Former Arsenal midfielder Fabregas also revealed he was looking at coaching after his retirement, in response to another question during the Q&A.

He has been praised for his ability to read the game and pick out passes, and it remains to be seen how that will help Fabregas in a coaching role.

Nkunku signing a mistake?

Sports Brief earlier reported on how the signing of Christopher Nkunku could be a major risk by Chelsea, due to his knee injury.

The Blues have had to deal with major knee injuries to key players like Reece James and Ben Chilwell, youngster Armando Broja and new signing Wesley Fofana.

Some believe it is a very risky move by the Londoners to sign another player, who shares a history of similar injury.
