Popular British commentator, Martin Tyler believes Morocco's breakout star at the World Cup, Azzedine Ounahi is a younger version of N'golo Kante.

Ounahi is having an outstanding tournament in Qatar, with English Premier League clubs circling around the Angers midfielder for his services in the winter transfer window.

The 22-year-old grabbed the headlines with his performance against Portugal as Morocco became the first African country to reach the semi-finals.

He then produced another magnificent display in the semi-final defeat to France on Wednesday.

Commenting on the performance of the midfielder on Sky Sports, Tyler said Ounahi posses the qualities of Chelsea's injured star.

“Premier League managers will be watching him,” said Tyler as quoted by HITC. “You could have got him for a snip before this World Cup. He plays for a team in France that are bottom of Ligue 1.”

“I understand Leicester are interested. There should be others interested as well. I could have watched him on his own, the energy and passing ability he brought to the team [against France]. He’s N’Golo Kante 10 years younger,” he added.

Newcastle United and Leicester City are battling for the signature of Ounahi ahead of the winter transfer window.

Ounahi will line up for Morocco in their third and fourth play-off game against Croatia on Saturday.

Morocco to host Club World Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Morocco will host the next Club World Cup, the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) has confirmed.
