AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud was put to task to explain if he felt there were any similarities between him and Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang joined Chelsea this summer in a deadline-day move from Barcelona. Giroud meanwhile, left Chelsea last summer after winning the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.

Both strikers are also former strikers of Arsenal, and will meet again when Milan face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on October 5.

Football London reports that the French striker was categorical that there was no similarity between him and his Chelsea counterpart - save for the Arsenal factor.

"He’s a very good striker; I know him very well. Of course, we both played for Arsenal, but that’s the only similarity between us because we are completely different players."

Both players will be hoping to steer their sides to victory. Aubameyang's Chelsea in particular is yet to record a point and a defeat could spell doom for Graham Potter's side.

The last time they faced each other was in the 2019 Europa League final, where Giroud's Chelsea emerged victorious against Aubameyang's Arsenal.
