Thomas Tuchel has reportedly rejected an offer to return to the Bundesliga following his sack at Premier League club Chelsea.

According to the Sun, Tuchel was contacted by Bayer Leverkusen but has turned down the offer, inadvertently rejecting a chance to make a swift return to the touchline.

Leverkusen has endured a difficult start to their campaign, having only picked up five points from their opening eight games of the Bundesliga season.

Manager Gerardo Seoane is under pressure and could very well be replaced. However, Leverkusen's reported prime target, Thomas Tuchel is not interested in joining them.

But when quizzed about a possible change of guard, Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro piled more pressure on Gerardo Seoane by stating as quoted by Bundesliga News: "We are not unprepared!"

Up next for Seoane and his charges are must-win games in his next two matches against Porto in the Champions League and Schalke in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Tuchel remains unattached following his brutal sack at Chelsea. Tuchel's last game in charge of the Blues was a disappointing 1-0 loss at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has revealed interesting details about why they decided to sack Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties as Chelsea's head coach last week following a spate of poor results.

The German gaffer was sacked barely 15 months after leading the side to Champions League victory. Boehly adopted the ruthless nature of former owner Roman Abramovich, by firing Tuchel at the first sight of a dip in form.
