  • Chelsea manager Graham Potter has confirmed two of his first-team players will miss their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace
  • According to Potter, N'Golo Kante and Marc Cucurella will play no role in the Saturday clash, with the former battling a hamstring problem
  • Chelsea's trip to Selhurst Park will be Potter's first Premier League match in charge of the west Londoners

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has confirmed two players will miss his side's trip to Crystal Palace.

The Blues are scheduled to face Palace on Saturday, October 1, at Selhurst Park, in what will be Potter's second game in charge of the west London club.

However, the new Chelsea boss will have to contend with the absence of N'Golo Kante and Marc Cucurella, who will play no role in the clash.

Kante has not featured for Chelsea for weeks now, with his last appearance coming during the side's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur back in August.

The Frenchman has been battling a hamstring problem but has since resumed training.

However, despite his return, the 31-year-old is said not to be match fit to line up against Palace.

Cucurella, on the other hand, has missed Chelsea's last two Premier League matches, with the left-back taken ill.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Potter said via Football London:

"They're fine in terms of coming through the rehab stages and Kante has been on the grass. Maybe next week for him. A bit of illness for Marc Cucurella."

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently placed seventh on the Premier League standings with 10 points from six matches.
