  • Al Mokawloon, Mohamed Salah's first club at the senior level, has aimed a sly dig at American businessman Todd Boehly for claiming the Liverpool man is a product from Chelsea's academy
  • Mo Salah did spend time at Stamford Bridge between 2014 and 2016 but came through the ranks of Egyptian club Al Mokawloon
  • The Egypt international mustered 44 appearances for Al Mokawloon across three seasons, notching 12 goals during his formative years in his homeland

Mohamed Salah's first club, Al Mokawloon, have expressed dissatisfaction with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly's recent claim about the Liverpool talisman.

Todd Boehly claimed Mo Salah was a product of Chelsea’s academy earlier this week, which has since not gone down well with most football followers trolling the Chelsea owner for his wrong assertion.

Amid the trolls from football enthusiasts, Egyptian side Al Mokawloon - who handed Mohamed Salah his senior debut - have reacted to Boehly's comments furiously.

"Mohamed Salah is a source of pride for the Al Mokawloon Club and Egyptian and Arab football, and we are honoured that he is one of our sons.
"The whole world knows Salah's career and how he started with us, but it seems that the owner of Chelsea is the only person in the world who is ignorant of this information.”

Football fans ridicule Chelsea owner for false claim about Salah and De Bruyne

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has come under sharp criticism after he made an unfactual claim about two former Chelsea stars.

Boehly has been on the receiving end of wrath from fans, particularly Chelsea fans after he sacked Thomas Tuchel as head coach last week. Tuchel was widely accepted by the Chelsea fanbase and his sacking came as a shock.

The American billionaire has once again cast doubt on his suitability to lead Chelsea to the next level after claiming that Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne came from Chelsea's academy as Daily Mail reports.
