Rio Ferdinand says Brendan Rodgers would be 'logical' appointment at Chelsea

However, Rio believes Rodgers is the best-suited candidate for the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

According to the former Man United defender, the former Rangers boss would be a 'logical appointment at the west London club.

"I think that would be logical and not too an outlandish appointment. He’s been at Chelsea before and proven elsewhere he can win trophies and build a football club," Rio said on his YouTube channel.
"He’s won the FA Cup with Leicester, a team not considered a favourite for that competition. Yes, they’re struggling right now but I think a lot of that is down to the transfer window and a lack of investment," he added.

Chelsea reach verbal agreement with Graham Potter to replace Thomas Tuchel as head coach

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter as the replacement for Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was shown the exit door on the back of a stuttering start to the season, which continued in a shock 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Following the 49-year-old's sacking, the club's top brass, led by Todd Boehly, set their sights on Brighton boss Graham Potter.
