Fans of English Premier League club Chelsea are still unsure of the club’s takeover by US billionaire Todd Boehly but their sponsor Trivago has reacted to the controversy.

The club’s £2.6billion takeover by US tycoon Todd Boehly has been thrown into fresh crisis as Abramovich refuses to accept the conditions imposed by the UK Government.

Todd Boehly had fronted for a consortium and an agreement had been sealed for a takeover of the club after the sanctions on Abramovich in March.

The news put some supporters of the club to wonder about the future of the London club, but they were given a glimmer of hope as club sponsor Trivago welcomed Boehly to Stamford Bridge.

Someone said:

"Official?? Are you telling me something I don't know."

Another person added:

"Reporters saying the takeover might not happen just for Trivargo to announce him the next day."

Optimistically wrote another:

"Sponsor gone early with the announcements (hopefully)."

While another account chimed in with:

"Looks like the training shirt sponsor has leaked the news Welcome, Todd!"

Chelsea missing in qualified teams for Champions League

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Liverpool lead the teams that have qualified for the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League as top European teams try to book their spot for next season’s competition.

The two Champions League finalists are already through to next season’s group phase as Los Blancos have been crowned Champions of the Spanish La Liga while Liverpool stands a slim chance of snatching the Premier League on the final day.

According to a report via Sports Illustrated, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona are other teams to have qualified for Europe’s top club competition whereas Chelsea and Arsenal are missing.

Fans vote Liverpool as the most hated EPL club

Sports Brief earlier reported that following comments by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola who claimed everyone in England wants Liverpool to win the Premier League title, fans have had their say.

The Spanish manager claimed that everyone, as well as the media, is in support of rivals Liverpool as the Premier League title race enters the final lap.

Guardiola made petty allegations against Jurgen Klopp’s side after Man City defeated Newcastle United earlier this month as they extended their lead on the standings.
