Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he "really feels" for Chelsea following their FA Cup final showdown decided via a penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 14.

The Reds were clinical in the shootouts as they silenced Chelsea 6-5 to secure the domestic trophy.

The match had to be decided via penalties after the two teams settled for a goalless draw during the regulation time.

Both teams had a couple of half-chances in the two halves but neither could find the back of the net.

Mason Mount's penalty miss in the shootouts proved decisive as Liverpool's Konstatinos Tsimikas buried his to help Liverpool win the FA Cup for the first time since 2006.

As for the Blues, they became the first team to lose three consecutive FA Cup finals, having previously lost to Leicester and Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp sends Chelsea message after FA Cup heartbreak

Klopp, who had won his first FA Cup title for Liverpool took some time to send Chelsea an impassioned message as he admitted the Saturday loss was heartbreaking for Thomas Tuchel's men.

"It’s heartbreaking, to be honest for Chelsea," Metro UK quoted Klopp saying.
"In a shootout, there must be a loser and they are unlucky again," he added.

Incredibly, Chelsea had also lost the EFL Cup earlier in the season after they suffered a devastating defeat in the final against Liverpool.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Sadio Mané has proven why he courts a lot of affection from football fans across the globe following his heartwarming gesture in yesterday's FA Cup finals against Chelsea.

The Senegal talisman, who has been in red-hot form since the 2021 AFCON, wrapped up yet another trophy in the calendar year when his side, Liverpool, edged the Blues in penalty shootouts to clinch the Emirates FA Cup.

Amid the fanfare and celebration following Tsimikas' game-winning penalty, Mané took time out to console his international teammate Edouard Mendy, who was on the losing side.
