Christian Pulisic's 90th-minute goal was the difference as Chelsea battled West Ham United to a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, April 24.

The Blues were desperate to bounce back to winning ways having suffered a 4-2 humiliating defeat against Arsenal in another London derby earlier in the week.

The Sunday clash looked set for a frustrating draw for the hosts before Pulisic fired home the winner at the death.

West Ham's hot form under David Moyes

On their part, West Ham took the Stamford Bridge trip after a fine run of results under the tutelage of David Moyes.

The Hammers are in the run for a European spot in a season they have impressed in their continental campaign.

Moyes's charges already have a Europa League semi-final on the horizon after seeing off French giants, Lyon, in the quarters.

The East London outfit held Lyon to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the tie before hammering them 3-0 in the reverse tie to book a place in the semis.

Pulisic's heroics sink West Ham

The encounter between Chelsea and West Ham looked set for a barren draw at Stamford Bridge before Pulisic scored the winner in the 90th minute.

The Blues had earlier failed to capitalise on a penalty awarded to them when Craig Pawson was handed a red card, with Jorginho, who stepped up to take the spot-kick failing to hit the target.

Chelsea's win has their top-four status fully secured as they sit third on the log with 65 points, five ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal.

Tuchel reveals Rudiger is leaving Chelsea

Earlier, Sports Brief reported German defender Antonio Rudiger is now on the verge of leaving Premier League side Chelsea after five years.

This latest development was confirmed by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel who explained that the club wanted to keep the defender.

Rudiger has been impressive since he joined Chelsea from Roma and helped them win the Champions League last season.
