Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba has joined an exclusive list of Premier League greats to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

Drogba carved a niche for himself in the Premier League as the man for the big occasions with crucial goals for the Blues in a trophy-laden period at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea legend, who won four Premier League titles, scored a total of 104 goals in 254 Premier League appearances for the Blues while annexing two Golden Boot awards in 2006/07 and 2009/10.

He was recently cleared to vie for the Ivorian Football Federation presidency and is the first African to be recognized as a Premier League Hall of Famer.

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has been given the green light to vie for the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF).

Drogba is among six other candidates keen to bag the country's football administration top seat ahead of the Saturday, April 23, polls.

Drogba's clearance to vie for the football federation presidency comes almost two years after he failed in the bid.

Patrick Vieira inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has chalked up another milestone years after hanging his football boots to delve into coaching.

The 45-year-old retired footballer together with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney received the highest individual honour awarded to players who have excelled in the Premier League.

Vieira, who currently coaches Premier League club Crystal Palace, joined Arsenal in 1996 after a disappointing stint in Italy and went on to etch himself in the folklore of English football.
