  • According to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, Hudson-Odoi's return date is still not yet known
  • Hudson-Odoi suffered a knee injury during Chelsea's Premier League clash against Tottenham in January this year

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has lifted the lid on the injury situation of incoming Balck Stars striker Callum Hudson-Odoi.

What Tuchel said about Hudson-Odoi

"Callum Hudson-Odoi is still out, and we are a bit in doubt with Romelu and Hakim Ziyech.
"We need to see. They were not in training due to little problems. But we hope to have them in training. We need test and confirmation from training at three o'clock to see if they are available for tomorrow."

Asked to emphasise on Hudson-Odoi's injury and a possible return date, Tuchel added:

"It doesn't look so good at the moment. It's not a matter of days at the moment, I think, it's a matter of weeks. It's a setback.
"He started in the Club World Cup final – we were just talking about it – he started in the World Club Cup final, and he had an assist in the final. He was crucial on the left side, sometimes as a wing-back but most of the time as a winger.
"It was one of the seasons that he has had the most game time I would say – he was growing into it. Suddenly it's stopped his season. It's not his fault, but it's an upset."

Chelsea Star Finally Breaks Silence on Twice Rejecting England Call Up After Ghana Interest

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Callum Hudson-Odoi has rejected claims that he is arrogant for rejecting an England U21 invite last year as he forced his way into the senior team of the Three Lions.

According to the 21-year-old, he wanted to concentrate on breaking into the Chelsea team after fully recovering from injury.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Ghana target says people misinterpreted his intentions and he was just trying to focus on his club career.
