Thiago Silva has revealed he plans on emulating AC Milan icon, Paulo Maldini by playing high-quality football even in his 40s.
The 37-year-old has been a revelation for the Blues since joining the Stamford Bridge club from PSG on a free transfer in 2020.
According to a report via 90 Min, Silva admitted he has no plans to stop playing any time soon as he hopes on being active for several more years.
"I hope I can do the same thing that Maldini did at Milan, playing until he was 40 or 41 years old.
"That’s my plan for the immediate future and I have prepared myself for that."
Thiago Silva's contract with Chelsea is set to run until 2023 having recently penned a new one-year deal earlier in the season.
The former AC Milan defender has won the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup since joining Chelsea.
