Desperate Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has disclosed that the Blues will have a plane take them to France for their Champions League clash against Lille.

SPORTbible reports that Tuchel gave a brilliant response when the manager was asked how his side will travel to face the Ligue 1 side in the European competition.

Having won the first leg 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea head to Lille for the second leg fixture and there are concerns about how they will travel.

Following sanctions over Blues owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s travel budget has been restricted to just £20,000 per away game and this could pose a threat to the club’s operations.

In fact, Tuchel joked that he would not mind driving to the match venue if that is what it means.

Tuchel said as per GiveMeSport:

“My last information is we have a plane and we can go by plane and come back by plane. If not we go by train, if not by bus, if not I will drive a seven-seater.
“Honestly, I will do it. You can mark my words, I will do it to arrive there.
“If you’d asked me 20 or 30 years ago, to be in charge of a Champions League match what I was willing to do, I’d say: ‘Ok, where do I have to be and when?’"

Tuchel speaks after being linked with Man Utd job

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has declared his intent to stay at Stamford Bridge amid fears he could depart following the recent crisis that has rocked the club.

Tuchel is understood to be staring at an uncertain Tuchel has quickly put those speculations to rest, with the German revealing he is keen to see out the rest of the season with Chelsea on the bare minimum.

The ex-PSG boss described the United links as 'pure speculation' as he exuded confidence the situation at Chelsea will stabilise.

United have been widely linked with moves for Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax's Erik ten Hag.
