Andreas Christensen who plays as a central defender for Premier League giants Chelsea has reportedly agreed to move to Spanish side Barcelona on a free transfer next season.

This latest development will come as a big blow for Chelsea fans and manager Thomas Tuchel who has been trying to tie the Danish footballer down to a long term contract.

Christensen’s current contract with Chelsea will expire at the end of the ongoing Premier League season and he looks set for an exit.

The 25-year-old is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea and has already told the LaLiga giants he will join them in the summer.

According to the report on B/R Football and Daily Post, Andreas Christensen feels making a move to Barcelona won't be a bad one for his football career.

Andreas moved to Chelsea in 2013 and was sent on loan to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2015 before making a return to Stamford Bridge in 2017 and has been superb for the Blues since then.

Senegalese goalkeeper Mendy started the Carabao Cup final for Chelsea against Liverpool, but a few minutes to the end of the game, Chelsea gaffer Tuchel decided to bring on Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The expectation was for the Spanish goalkeeper to be a hero, but he failed to save any of Liverpool's 11 penalties, and to make the matter worse, he lost the important kick.
