Premier League table took another dimension after week 19 round of matches in the English topflight division on Boxing Day.

Club World Cup champions Liverpool extended their lead on top of the table following a convincing 4-0 win over second-placed Leicester City.

The win saw Liverpool take full control of the Premier League race as they look too win the domestic title for the first time in 30 years.

Southampton boosted their chances of surviving their relegation battle as they stunned Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have now lost back-to-back home games for the first time since 2011, but remain firmly in the top four.

Tottenham moved within three points off the Champions League spot after coming from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at home.

Man United, on the other hand re-ignited their Champions League ambitions following a 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle in front of their home fans at Old Trafford.

Mikel Arteta's first game as Arsenal manager ended in a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium against Bournemouth while Carlo Ancelotti's first game in charge ended in a win as Everton defeated Burnley 1-0.

The relegation battle between newly-promoted side Aston Villa and Norwich City ended 1-0 in favour of the Villans.

Sheffield United and bottom side Watford settled for a 1-1 draw, with Andre Ayew scoring a late winner in Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over West Ham United at Selhurst Park.

Man City will be looking to avenge their defeat to Wolves at the Etihad when they travel to Molineux to face Nuno Espirito Santo side in the last matchday 19 fixture.
