Barcelona for the first time in a while are now regarded as the most valuable football club in the world according to Forbes magazine, ESPN FC.

Despite not winning key trophies in the last two seasons, La Blaugrana still managed to top their closest rival with just a fraction of a dollar.

The Camp Nou outfit let top players like Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Arthur off the book to free up space in their financial books last summer.

The Catalan giants who are currently in the third position on La Liga table are worth $4.76bn while Madrid are £4.75bn.

Bayern Munich who won the treble last season including the Bundesliga, German Cup and the Champions League are in the third position with £4.22bn worth.

Former world's richest club Man United are now in the fourth position with £4.2bn while their Premier League rivals Liverpool occupy the fifth spot valued at $4.1bn.

Currently, Premier League leaders Man City are sixth with a value of $4bn, next to the Citizens are Chelsea who are worth $3.2bn.

Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham fill in the eighth, ninth and tenth spots respectively as they all valued at $2.8bn, $2.5bn and $2.3bn.
