- Last season's winners, Bayern Munich, are also in the mix alongside Borussia Dortmund

The Blues stunned Atletico 3-0 on aggregate to qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

The west Londoners secured a 1-0 win in the first leg played in Romania before sinking the La Liga giants 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to sail through.

England now has three representatives in the last eight of the competition, including Man City and Liverpool, both who booked a place after wins in their respective fixtures.

City cruised through after winning 4-0 on aggregate against Borussia Monchenglabach, with Liverpool seeing off RB Leipzig to earn a ticket.

Joining the Premier League clubs in the quarter-finals are representatives from Spain, Portugal, France and Germany.

Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Porto and lasts season's Champions Bayern Munich are all in the basket.

Country protection is now not in use in this round, meaning teams from the same league can play each other at this stage.

As such, the Blues can meet any of the seven other teams in the draw as they continue their European dream.

The draw is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 19, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Both legs for the last eight are slated to play between Tuesday, April 6, and Wednesday, April 14, with the finals set for Saturday, May 29, in Istanbul, Turkey.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has sent strong warning to potential Champions League quarter-final opponents saying “no one wants to play us.”

He added: “I'm pretty sure no one wants to play against us. It's a super difficult challenge ahead because we are already in the last eight.

“It's a big step, but no need to be afraid, we take what we get and prepare as best as possible."
