Ivory Coast Forward Sebastien Haller Returns to Training As He Makes Progress After Testicular Cancer

Sebastien Haller has started training as he begins the process of his comeback to football, following months of being on the sidelines due to cancer.

The Borussia Dortmund star was diagnosed with testicular cancer three months ago, forcing him to put his career on hold.

However, the Ivorian forward has returned to Holland to continue his rehabilitation as he trains with Ajax Amsterdam.

Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder confirmed the forward has been practicing with the Dutch champions in efforts to make a big comeback to the sport.

"He asked us if he could come and train because he was rehabilitating here," said Schreuder as quoted by Goal.

"Then it is of course wonderful that he can be there for a while. He was able to train on a different pitch to help his recovery."

Haller, who joined Dortmund from Ajax in the summer transfer window, suffered the setback during pre-season after he fell ill and was rushed to the hospital.

During his last campaign with the Dutch giants, he ended the campaign as the team's top scorer.

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Haller and Borussia Dortmund suffered a major blow ahead of the new season, after the striker was ruled out for an indefinite period.

Haller was yet to play a competitive match for the Bundesliga side and had already been ruled out indefinitely after a tumour was discovered.

As reported by ESPN, Haller left Dortmund’s training camp in Switzerland after feeling unwell.

The Ivory Coast forward left Borussia Dortmund's pre-season camp in Switzerland to return back to Germany, after feeling unwell during training.

In a message posted on social media, the Dutch Eredivisie champions wished Haller better health and hopes he comes back stronger.
