  • FC Köln came from behind to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in an action-packed Bundesliga game

You can’t stop Benno Schmitz from scoring.

The FC Köln right-back has scored two goals in two games, but sadly they’ve both been in the back of his own net.

Köln have also scored three own goals so far this season, with Schmitz being responsible for two of them.

The German defender first unwittingly put the ball in his own goal during the Bundesliga clash against Vfl Bochum in the ninth minute of that game.

The league then took a break for international football, but the break didn’t help as Schmitz netted again upon his return.

The defender was credited with scoring an own goal against Borussia Dortmund, though the decision was harsh, to be fair.

With Dortmund trailing 3-1 in the 78th minute, Tom Rothe attempted to cross the ball into the box. The ball deflected of Schmitz and looped over Marvin Schwäbe in the Köln net.

A tweet from Dortmund captured the moment perfectly as the ball struck Schmitz. While he never intended to score or had any control over it, the official match stats credit him with the goal.

The goal didn’t impact the game overall, though, as Köln ran out 3-2 winners. They trailed Dortmund at the break 1-0. through a Julian Brandt goal.

Ghanaian goalkeeper scores comical own goal after smashing ball into his own net

Speaking of own goals, Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghanaian goalkeeper Julius Naanio had a day to forget as he scored possibly one of the worst own goals of all-time on Sunday.

Naanio's team, Berekum Arsenal, were playing against Bolga All-Stars in the Ghana Division One League - a game that ended 2-2.

With the home side leading 2-1 in the second half, All-Stars were given a huge helping hand following a calamity from goalkeeper Naanio.
