The Premier League commands a global following, and many stars want to test their mettle in England. Reus is not one of them.

The German international started his career with Dortmund’s youth team before moving to Rot Weiss Ahlen. He then moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach before joining Dortmund in 2012, where he has been ever since.

During that time, he has played 359 games for Dortmund, scoring 154 games for the club and providing 115 assists, TransferMarkt reported.

Despite playing in Germany all his life, he recently admitted that he prefers to watch the other leagues, Sportskeeda reported.

“I prefer to watch the Premier League or La Liga when Barca plays against Real. I know a little bit about the Premier League. It's a special game when City plays United," he said.

He also added that it was difficult for clubs in Germany to compete with the likes of English teams financially, and often players from the Bundesliga were tempted to move across to the Premier League.

Dortmund recently lost both Erling Haaland and Marco Reus to English sides.

“I know the Bundesliga. They have less money than the clubs in England, so it's difficult to get the absolute top players. These players want to win titles and earn big money,” he added.

Borussia Dortmund tipped to win Bundesliga title ahead of Bayern Munich after a fantastic start to the season

Borussia Dortmund has been tipped as the team to halt Bayern Munich’s dominance of the German Bundesliga after a blistering start to the season from Die Borussen.

Dortmund defeated Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 in their first match of the Bundesliga season after also impressing their supporters during the preseason.

Former Bayern Munich player Dietmar Hamann has revealed he expects Borussia Dortmund to emerge as winners of this season’s Bundesliga campaign ahead of Bayern Munich.
