Former Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper, Roman Wiedenfeller and his ex-teammates visited the Okuapemhene of Ghana as part of their tour of the country.

The goalkeeper and some Dortmund legends paid a courtesy call on the traditional ruler, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, at his palace in Akuapem, the Eastern part of Ghana.

In a photo posted on social media, the legendary shot-stopper presented a jersey to the chief for hosting them.

The Bundesliga side are in Ghana for a special visit as they tour the West African country as well as engage in other worthy courses.

The former Dortmund players will be engage some African greats in a star-studded game on Sunday, with the likes of Abedi Pele and Asamoah Gyan making an appearance.

Borussia Dortmund have large following in Ghana with fans of the club expected to storm the Accra Sports Stadium to watch their legends in the match against an African select side.

Roman Weidenfeller works as the clubs representative since retiring in 2018.

Dortmund legends arrive in Ghana for major showdown

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that legends of German giants Borussia Dortmund have touched down in Ghana for a tour of the West African country as well as a game against some African greats.

The Dortmund entourage is led by former striker Jan Koller, who arrived together with former teammates including Egypt's Mohamed Zidan.

In photos and videos posted on Twitter, the Bundesliga outfit were met by a large number of Dortmund fans in Ghana.

Dortmund applaud Otto Addo after leading Ghana to World Cup qualification

Otto Addo is basking in the glory of qualifying Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup upon his official return to Borussia Dortmund.

The 46-year-old trainer guided the West African nation to its fourth World Cup when his tactical masterclass upstaged Nigeria in a two-legged tie.

In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Dortmund welcomed their technical staff after he became the second Ghanaian to qualify the nation for the Mundial.
