  • Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have discovered a new way to improve their players' free-kick mastery
  • The Allianz Arena outfit have deployed modern technology to replace human walls which are normally used at training grounds
  • Bayern Munich have not had a freekick expert ever since Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery left the club

Bayern Munich Madrid have dropped a video of their players using new technology at their training ground to improve their players’ free-kick technique.

In the video, Joshua Kimmich was seen trying to shoot over an incredible robot wall as he takes free-kick training to the next level.

The 27-year-old curled the ball over the mechanical five-player blockade that jumps as a free-kick is taken.

The mannequins which are operated by a control panel on a tablet can be sighted jumping after the free-kicks are taken, akin to how a human wall would react in a game.

Bundesliga returns

Bayern Munich return to competitive action on Friday against third-place RB Leipzig, Sun Sports reports.

Julian Nagelsmann's men are in contention for the 11th Bundesliga title in a row. The Allianz Arena outfit are also going for the Champions League when they take on Paris Saint-Germain in a blockbuster last-16 tie which gets underway on February 14.

It is a repeat of the 2020 final which Bayern won 1-0 to claim their sixth European crown.

Bayern in negotiations Neuer replacement

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Bayern Munich’s search for a goalkeeper continues. The Bundesliga side are in desperate need of a first-choice keeper for the rest of the season following Manuel Neuer’s injury.

Neuer broke his leg during a skiing accident while on holiday and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Bayern currently only has Sven Ulreich and Johannes Schenk on the books as backups. As noted by Transfermarket, Ulreich has only made three appearances this season.
