Relief As German Club Bayern Munich Release Statement Over Injury Status of Senegal’s Sadio Mane

German club Bayern Munich have released a statement that Sadio Mane should still be available to play for Senegal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The former Liverpool forward suffered an injury, and there were fears that he could miss out on the global showpiece, which starts on November 20.

Mane was hit in the leg and was substituted in the first half of Bayern's 6-1 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Several sections of the media claimed that the f could miss the football fiesta, but Bayern Munich’s assistant coach Dino Toppmoller stated that the injury was not serious.

Toppmoller said, as per Guardian:

“Sadio Mané was hit on the leg, which caused him a little nerve pain. Nothing too serious and his participation in the World Cup should not be in jeopardy.

However, the club manager, Julian Nagelsmann, disclosed that he would only make comments until after the player undergoes tests.

Nagelsmann confirmed however that Mane had taken a blow to the head of his shin.

"That’s an unpleasant spot; it radiates a bit into the muscles. I think he has to go to the X-ray to see if there is something there, because it is splintering easily. But I hope that nothing is wrong. I can’t say anything for sure yet.”
