As reported by Bulinews, Union Berlin will be without head coach Urs Fischer, centre-back Timo Baumgartl and winger Tim Maciejewski after they all tested positive for the virus.

Baumgartl had just returned to action after not playing since April due to a testicular cancer scare. Union Berlin are due to face Malmö FF in the Europa League on Thursday and are looking to pick up their first points of the tournament.

At Mönchengladbach, Head coach Daniel Farke also had to enter isolation after testing positive. Farke could return in time for his team's next League fixture against Köln.

Even the reigning Bundesliga champions couldn't accept the virus.

Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich have been ruled out of action for Bayern Munich. The duo were part of Bayern’s team that beat Bayer Leverkusen on Friday but tested positive the following day, ESPN Africa confirmed.

They will not feature for Bayern in the Champions League when the German side takes on Viktoria Plzen. Bayern had just welcomed Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka back to the team after being forced to isolate due to a positive test.

The German national team have been hit with a double dose of drama ahead of their UEFA Nations League games against Hungary and Italy.

The German side will have to contest the two important games without the Bayern Munich duo of Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka, Sports Brief reported.

Both Neuer and Goretzka were sent home after they tested positive for Covid-19, Bayern Munich confirmed on their site.
