Bremen were the most lethal side, scoring five to beat Daniel Farke's Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Niclas Füllkrug grabbed a brace to go along with goals from Marvin Ducksch and Mitchell Weiser, and an own goal from Ramy Bensebaini as Bremen leapfrogged Farke's side on the table. Marcus Thuram scored Mönchengladbach's only goal in the 63rd minute of the game, Bulinews reported.

In other fixtures, Bayern Munich and Leipzig scored eight goals between them as they both recorded 4-0 wins. There were also three other games where five goals were scored between the two sides contesting the fixture.

Fc Köln, Wolfsburg and Augsburg all ran out 3-2 winners as they beat Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 respectively.

The lowest scoring game was Hertha Berlin's tie against Hoffenheim, which saw both teams score just one goal each.

What is the record for most goals scored in a single match day?

While 36 is a massive number, it comes nowhere close to the record. As noted by the Bundesliga website, matchday 32 in the 1983/84 season saw a whopping 53 goals scored in the nine games. Werder Bremen were also big winners that day as they recorded a 7-3 win over Kickers Offenbach.

Superb Musiala guides Bayern to 'brutal' win over Leverkusen

A masterclass from Jamal Musiala, as well as a first goal in five games for Sadio Mane, helped Bayern Munich thump hapless Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 at home on Friday.

Musiala scored one and set up two more, leaving the field to a rapturous reception when substituted after 81 minutes.

Asked after the game if the win removes pressure from manager Julian Nagelsmann, Musiala said simply: "The pressure was on us all."
