Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona have become a constant fixture in Europe's premier club competition - the UEFA Champions League - since 2013.

The recent sequence of matches involving two of Europe's football royalty has been largely dominated by the Bundesliga outfit.

In spite of the frequency of their contests, one game which clearly stands out was the 2020 UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie, which saw the Bavarians wallop Barca 8-2.

Despite the plethora of goals scored on the night and the camera lens on Thomas Muller, Lewandowski and Coutinho, it was a Canadian youngster who ran the show from the flanks.

Alphonso Davies' supersonic speed and close control proved to be a nightmarish ordeal for the Barca defence as the 21-year-old ran riot at the Estadio da Luz.

In relation to Davies' display against Bayern, a snippet - seen by Sports Brief - of how he sent the Barcelona defenders to the cleaners has resurfaced online.

In the most recent instalment of their rivalry, Bayern Munich edged out Barca for the umpteenth despite losing prolific goal scorer Robert Lewandowski to the La Liga outfit.

The 21-year-old Canadian had suffered complications after contracting Covid-19 during the winter summer break of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.

According to ESPN, Davies revealed the whole experience was scary for him. As a player, he feared his football career was over as there was no time frame for his return.
