Bayern Munich star, Joshua Kimmich has expressed his disappointment over Germany’s surprise 1-0 loss to Hungary in the UEFA Nations League on Friday, September 23.

Adam Szalai’s goal proved the difference between both sides as Germany suffered their first loss under Hansi Flick since the former Bayern Munich manager took over the national team last year.

According to SB Nation, Kimmich has now berated his fellow German teammates for the loss as he revealed they all made too many mistakes against the Hungarians.

“We were far too slow in our passing game and made way too many mistakes. Winning the group in the Nations League was our goal, but it wasn’t noticeable in the first half. We did nothing and lacked everything in the first 45 minutes.”

With one game left, Germany, who is now in third place behind Hungary and Italy in League A-Group 3, cannot win the group.

Flick says Germany got wake-up call for World Cup after Hungary loss

Meanwhile, Germany coach, Hansi Flick is seeing the positive side of his side’s shock loss to Hungary in the Nations League at the Red Bull Arena on Friday.

Flick said Friday’s loss to the Hungarians was a timely wake-up call for the four-time world champions ahead of the World Cup in Qatar which starts in November, Reuters reports.

The German boss admitted that his German players still need to improve in the two months leading up to the tournament if they are to win their 5th World Cup crown in Qatar by November.

Kimmich ready to bounce back to action after bizarre injury

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Joshua Kimmich will hope to be in Bayern Munich’s squad when the German champions square up against Stuttgart this weekend in the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old suffered a black eye during the Bavarians Champions League victory against Inter Milan which has cast doubts about his involvement in the weekend’s game.

Kimmich has now declared that he is fully fit to play for current Bundesliga champions, downplaying the seriousness of the injury he picked up in midweek.
