Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski appeared to ignore a handshake with his former teammate Thomas Muller in the tunnel at Allianz Arena.

The Catalans traveled to Munich to face the German champions in a UEFA Champions League Group C clash on Tuesday night.

It was a special game for Lewandowski who was eager to make an impact against his former side after he crossed carpet to join Barcelona in the summer.

Lewandowski embraced and shook hands with a number of Bayern players – including Sadio Mane and Joshua Kimmich – and Muller clearly wanted to do the same with the Poland forward.

But the Barcelona man stood firm and deliberately ignored the Germany international for the entire time they spent in the tunnel, Per Mirror Football.

Muller had earlier revealed Mane had jokingly advised him not to pass to Lewandowski, who he won twelve major titles playing alongside.

The duo forged a strong partnership while they were teammates at Bayern Munich for nine years, winning eight Bundesliga championships and a UEFA Champions League trophy together.

With ten minutes to go, Sane was later replaced by youngster Mathys Tel but it drew a furious reaction from the former Manchester City forward.

In a video posted on Instagram, spotted by Sports Brief, Sane chucked a bottle on the ground and then stormed off to the bench.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has fired a warning shot at his former teammates Robert Lewandowski after the UEFA Champions League draw.

The group stage draw for this season’s tournament took place in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday, August 24.

The draw saw the Bavarians pitted against Barcelona, which means the reigning German champions will be reunited with Robert Lewandowski following his move to Nou Camp earlier this summer.
