As reported by Bayern Strikes, both parties are eager to sign a new deal, so negotiations are expected to be pretty straightforward.

Bayern recently lost both Niklas Sule and David Alaba on free transfers and wouldn’t want to make that mistake with Hernandez. Hernandez is happy at Bayern and had no intention of even talking to other clubs during the recent transfer window.

The defender has been with the club since 2019 when he became Bayern’s record buy but initially struggled with injuries. Once he started playing more regularly, he soon became the first-choice centre-back under Julian Nagelsmann, as he underlined his quality to the team.

As noted by TransferMarkt, Hernandez has made 101 appearances for the German champions, scoring one goal and notching up eight assists so far.

He's also won the Bundesliga title three times, the DFB-Pokal, the UEFA Champions League, and the Club World Cup with the Bavarian giants.

Bayern Munich Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidžić reveals how he managed to sign Sadio Mané for German champs

Hasan Salihamidžić has been Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director for the past five years, and it’s easy to see why.

Brazzo, as he is affectionately known, steered the ship through a tough pandemic-hit era and has helped build a strong squad that coach Julian Nagelsmann can use to challenge on all fronts.

However, Salihamidžić is no stranger to criticism. Brazzo most recently came under fire from fans of the club when he was spotted in a nightclub in Mallorca before the new season started.
