Asamoah Gyan took the chance to jokingly remind former Bayern Munich and Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffuor of his pains from the 1999 UEFA Champions League final.

The Bayern Munich legend broke down in uncontrollable tears after Manchester United came from a goal down to miraculously score twice in two minutes to win the UEFA Champions League.

In a video posted on Twitter, the two were spotted having a tete-a-tete where Gyan reminded him of 'crying like a baby' after the game.

“He cried like a baby,” Gyan teased Kuffour as quoted by Pulse. Fellow ex-teammate John Paintsil interjected by questioning if Gyan was old enough to have watched the game.

“I was old enough. In 1999, I was playing colts football at U-17 level. I was in school," replied Gyan.

Asamoah Gyan is hoping to make a return to the Black Stars team before the World Cup in Qatar.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan is hoping for the opportunity to make amends after his penalty miss at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa against Uruguay.

The 36-year-old has disclosed his desire to play at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

And with Ghana set to face nemesis Uruguay in group H, Gyan dreams of revenging the painful defeat 12 years ago.
