Former Germany and Bayern Munich player, Michael Rummenigge, has caught the wrath of football fans for claiming Sadio Mane is not world class.

Mane, who joined Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, is set for the start of the Bundesliga after scoring in the DFB Super Cup victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Despite early exploits with the German club and his successful six seasons with Liverpool, Rummenigge is not convinced by the Senegalese attacker's quality.

"With all due respect for Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt - both of them are not world-class players for me. Of course, Mane will do the Bundesliga good and score his goals, but at the age of 30, I don't see him at the absolute top level," the ex-Bayern Munch player wrote in his column for Sportbuzzer as quoted by Goal.
