Brief History:

Bayern Munich was founded in 1900 the club was not selected for the Bundesliga at its inception in 1963 Wikipedia reports. The German heavyweights had its period of greatest success in the mid-1970s when under the captaincy of Franz Beckenbauer when they won the European Cup three consecutive times between 1974 to 1976.

Robert Lewandowski returns to Bayern Munich

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Robert Lewandowski has flown back to Munich to officially say goodbye to his Bayern teammates after signing for Barcelona.

The Polish striker’s run at the Allianz Arena didn’t end on the best of notes as he asked to leave at the end of last season.
