Ansu Fati has tried to do some damage control following his father’s recent criticism of Barcelona due to the forward’s lack of game time under Xavi.

Bori Fati had revealed he was angry at Barcelona, especially at Xavi for his continuous dropping of his son to the bench in a recent interview where he blasted the Catalan giants.

According to Sportskeeda, Ansu Fati has now distanced himself from his father’s outburst after holding a meeting with Barcelona manager Xavi after the incident.

The 20-year-old revealed that he did not agree with what his father had to say as he revealed the outburst by his dad does not represent his own views as a Barcelona player.

Fati has suffered two long-term injuries within the past two years and is currently battling with loss of form and fitness issues which have seen him average just over 35 minutes in 38 matches this season across competitions for Barcelona.

Fati’s father wants son to quit Barca

Meanwhile, Ansu Fati's father is threatening to take his 20-year-old son away from Barcelona due to lack of playing time under current manager Xavi, Marca reports.

Bori believes Ansu Fati is still Barcelona’s franchise player as he currently wears the club’s iconic number 10 jersey and therefore should be treated better by the Catalans.

The 20-year-old is struggling to fulfil his potential at the moment having dropped down the pecking order at Camp Nou behind Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Ferran Torres.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Ansu Fati's father, Bori Fati, has launched a scathing attack on Barcelona following the lack of game time offered to his son.

The father of the Barcelona star expressed his rage at his son's lack of playing time this season and stated he might be open to leaving the team.

Ansu, who succeeded Lionel Messi's No.10 jersey, has seen his role at Camp Nou reduced drastically due to a myriad of issues, including nagging injuries and loss of form.
