Barcelona considering Xavi contract renewal

Barcelona are considering extending head coach, Xavi Hernandez's contract following the Spaniard’s impressive start to the 2022/23 campaign, Forbes reports.

The ex-player also broke a two-year club trophy drought by claiming the Spanish Super Cup final and is set to lead the Catalans to the La Liga title this campaign.

Xavi has one more year left on the contract he signed in the autumn of 2021, but the club’s board, led by president, Joan Laporta clearly intends on keeping him around.

Xavi reveals Barcelona’s main weakness

Sports Brief also reported on Barcelona manager, Xavi revealing he rotated his squad in the Catalans' victory over Cadiz, to prevent his players from getting fatigued.

The Spaniard opted to bring in six fresh faces with a host of second-half changes and Barcelona still ahead, to secure a 2-0 victory and extend their La Liga lead.

Xavi has now revealed the upcoming Europa League reverse fixture against Manchester United prompted him to make changes to keep his players fresh.
