Kevin-Prince Boateng has revisited his days with Barcelona where he played alongside Lionel Messi.

The former Black Stars midfielder spent the 2018/19 season on loan with the Catalan giants from Italian outfit, Sassuolo.

Boateng shocked the footballing world after it was announced he was joining the La Liga giants for the second half of the campaign, having excelled in Serie A.

However, his time in Spain was blighted with injuries and a lack of form, making only a handful of appearances for La Blaugarana.

A few years after his time in La Liga with Barcelona, the 35-year-old revealed that watching Messi training left him mesmerised and considered ending his career.

"Training with Messi left me speechless," he told DAZN as quoted by The Sun.
"I had always said that Cristiano Ronaldo was the best in the world, but Messi is something else. He's not normal."

Boateng admitted that while training with the Argentine, he felt inadequate for the first time in his career.

"[Messi] was doing incredible things. I felt like saying, 'I'm done, I'm going to quit playing!'"

Boateng made only three La Liga appearances during his time in Catalonia before returning to Italy to join Fiorentina.

Sports Brief also reported on Hertha Berlin midfielder, Boateng regretting how his time with the Black Stars of Ghana ended.

The German-born Ghanaian enjoyed a good time with the four-time African champions and was one of the stars of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

However, four years later, Boateng would be banished from camp alongside Sulley Muntari over misconduct.

Boateng named EURO 2024 ambassador

Sports Brief also reported on Boateng playing a huge role before, during and after Euro 2024, following his appointment as the ambassador for Berlin.

Germany will host the tournament and the Ghana international has been handed the role of being the ambassador for the host city.

Following the draw for the qualifying rounds, the 34-year-old was announced as the representative of the German capital.
