Why Pedri is nicknamed Mr Banana

Barcelona defender, Jules Kounde has dubbed his teammate Pedri Gonzalez 'Mr Banana', as the midfielder played his 100th official game for the Catalonians.

Pedri was born in Tenerife in the Canary Islands on November 25, 2002. The Canary Islands is a region in Spain known for producing and exporting bananas in large quantities, Tribuna noted.

They trans-ship bananas not only to mainland Spain, but to other parts of the world.

Xavi hails Dembele

Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandes has hailed French winger Ousmane Dembele as one of the best players in the world.

Dembele was instrumental in helping Barcelona secure a Copa del Rey semi-final spot after netting the sole goal in the 1-0 victory against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, January 25.

Xavi is delighted with Dembele’s progress so far and has described the French forward as lethal and one of the best footballers in the world currently, Goal reports.

Xavi teaches son Barcelona anthem

Xavi Hernandez is a proud Culer (Barcelona supporter) and he wants his children to share that same love for the club as well.

The club legend and now team coach is also a loving father who loves spending time with his kids, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Xavi has two kids with his wife Nuria Cunillera, a daughter named Asia who was born in 2016 and a son named Dan, who was born in 2018.

As noted by Football Espana, Xavi’s wife recently shared an adorable photo of the Barca manager teaching his son how to sing Barcelona’s anthem. Xavi can be seen sitting on the bed with Dan, who has Flash superhero pyjamas on, teaching him 'Cant del Barca''.
