Lucas Roman has a lot of similarities to Leo Messi. The Barca scouts saw that. Obviously he's not at Messi's level yet, but he has similar characteristics," Pandolfi said, via GOAL.

Who is Lucas Roman?

Born in Caballito neighborhood of Buenos Aires on February 10, 2004, Roman started his career at Club Ferro's youth academy at the age of seven.

He later graduated to the senior team, where he notched three goals and provided one assist in Argentina's second tier.

The prodigy has already played for Argentina's youth sides under the tutelage of former Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano.

The left-footed player, who operates more comfortably from the right just like Messi, expressed his excitement about sealing his switch to Barcelona.

"I'm very excited and I'm going to give my best," Lucas Roman told Barcelona's official media, via Marca.

Messi signed contract on napkin

Lionel Messi is a legend in football, especially at his former side, Barcelona.

The Argentinian superstar spent 20 successful years at the club and cemented his place as one of the greatest players in the world, Sports Brief reported.

While much is known about Messi’s legendary career, the story of his signing for the Spanish side is something that is often forgotten. Messi signed his first professional contract with the Catalan club when he was just 13 years old.

When Messi met Fabregas

Lionel Messi went from a shy youngster who didn’t talk much to one of the greatest footballers of all time.

That’s how Messi’s friend and former teammate, Cesc Fàbregas describes the rise of the Argentinian superstar, Sports Brief reported.

The duo met when Messi attended his first training session at just 13 years old. Fàbregas and Messi were born a few months apart and became good friends at Barcelona's academy.
