Gerard Pique has taken Shakira's diss song towards him in good humour, after revealing his seven-a-side league struck a sponsorship deal with Casio.

Shakira and Pique - who recently announced his retirement from football - broke up in June 2022 after the former Barcelona defender was reportedly caught cheating.

Since their separation, Shakira’s music has included references to Pique, but never as blatant as her latest release with Argentine producer, Bizarrap.

Pique's response to Shakira

According to Barca Universal, Pique appeared in a King's League stream on Friday, where he gave a response to Shakira while representing his seven-a-side league, which he is president of.

'"We have reached an agreement with Casio in the Kings League to sponsor us. Casio is a great watch, it lasts a lifetime," Pique was translated as saying, via Marca.

The former Barcelona defender added that one of the players of his Kings League would arrive in a Twingo after an agreement with the company.

"I have closed an agreement with Twingo to arrive on Sunday with player number 12 dressed as a clown," Pique joked.

Those streaming with Pique couldn't stop laughing at his mocking comment, certainly aimed at Shakira's diss song, with his former teammate and ex-Manchester City star, Sergio Aguero seen chanting 'Casio' on the video wall behind him.

Shakira and Pique split

The union between popular musician Shakira and Barcelona defender Pique has come to an end, with the couple said to have been leading separate lives for quite some time now.

The stars were together since 2010 and their union was blessed with two children, Milan and Sasha, as Sports Brief reported.

A statement made by the public relations agency representing Shakira confirmed the couple was no more, as quoted by the Mirror.

Shakira, Pique reach custody agreement

Sports Brief earlier reported that Shakira and Pique have reached an agreement over the custody of their two children following their break-up, their representatives said on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old Hips Don't Lie songstress plans to move to Miami with the couple's two sons, and Pique will reportedly have the boys for 10 days each month plus during the school holidays.

The couple, who had been living together for years on the outskirts of Barcelona, announced in June 2022 that they were separating amid cheating allegations.
