Memphis Depay opens to joining Atletico

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Netherlands winger Memphis Depay is on the verge of leaving Barcelona in the January transfer window to join La Liga rivals, Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are desperate to sign a winger to replace Joao Felix, who joined Chelsea on a six-month loan deal, and has identified Depay as the perfect candidate.

Depay is open to joining La Rojiblancos this January on a six-month loan deal, with his contract with Barcelona set to expire in the summer.

Atletico Madrid has intensified negotiations with La Blaugrana for the Dutch winger, as they have now shown concrete interest in the attacker - more than his other suitors.

Depay has endured a difficult season at Barcelona and has fallen behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Ferran Torres in the pecking order.

Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has revealed he has no idea about the potential departure of Depay to the Spanish capital.
