Football Espana reported that 20-year-old Fati was attempting to park his car in Barcelona when he was involved in the incident.

According to the publication, Fati’s vehicle collided with a motorcycle. The rider was thrown off the bike and broke their ankle. Fati, though shaken up, was not injured in the collision.

What did Fati do next?

The Barcelona forward accompanied the rider to the hospital and even provided his contact details to the victim, so that he could be updated on the recovery.

A place in Spain’s squad

The youngster was overjoyed after being named in Luis Enrique’s 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar. As reported by Goal, Fati described it as more than a dream.

The youngster’s chances of making it into the squad appeared to be slim at first, as limited game time at Barcelona hampered his chances of being selected by Enrique.

Enrique: selecting Fati a gamble

Spain boss Luis Enrique has admitted that taking Fati to the World Cup in Qatar is a big risk. This follows his selection of the Barcelona forward in his final 26-man squad.

Fati is regarded as one of Spain's brightest young talents, but the 20-year-old has seen his growth hampered by a long-term knee injury suffered in November 2020.

Enrique has now admitted that selecting Fati was a last-minute decision, a gamble he hopes will pay off at the World Cup, Sports Brief has reported.
