Robert Lewandowski is optimistic that he can reach the same heights with Barcelona that he did at Bayern Munich.

The Polish striker is loving life in Spain at the moment and believes that his new side are more than just a club.

Lewandowski made the comments after picking up his second Golden Boot award in Barcelona.

He was presented the award by Barca legend Carlos Puyol for being the top scorer in Europe last season, BeSoccer reported. Lewandowski scored 35 goals for Bayern Munich last season.

He thanked his former Bayern teammates at the awards ceremony, adding that he was really proud to have won the award.

He also touched on life at his new club and his excitement for the future, saying that he was sure next year would be a good one for the club.

Barcelona's mixed bag of performances

Barca have endured a mixed bag of fortunes this season. They currently sit at the of the table and will lead La Liga during the World Cup break, but they were also dumped out of the Champions League in the group stages.

Lewandowski believes it will get better next season and that he will try again to win the Golden, although it will be difficult, Marca reported.

Lewandowski will face stiff competition from a few players this season, especially Erling Haaland. Haaland has already scored 18 goals this season, while Lewandowski has only scored 12 so far.

Robert Lewandowski is human, after all.

The Polish striker is lethal in front of goal, but he also has his fair share of embarrassing misses at times.

Lewandowski had one such miss against Almeria in La Liga when he missed a penalty in the sixth minute of the game, Sports Brief reported.
