  • Robert Lewandowski could be suspended for his gestures towards Gil Manzano after being sent off against Osasuna
  • The Barcelona star signified that the referee was using hard substance after he pointed at his nose and then at the referee
  • Lewandowski received one red card in 14 appearances for Barcelona in La Liga, as many as in his 384 Bundesliga appearances in total

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski was shown a red card during his side's La Liga clash against Osasuna on Tuesday evening.

The Catalan giants traveled to Pamplona to face the Los Rojillos in their final La Liga game before the 2022 World Cup break.

Xavi Hernandez's men sat top of the La Liga table going into the game following Real Madrid‘s 3-2 loss at Rayo Vallecano on Monday.

Then 28 minutes later, Robert Lewandowski was shown a red card. The Poland international had already received a first yellow card for a challenge on Ignacio Vidal.

He was then shown a second booking for a flying elbow into an Osasuna into Osasuna's goalscorer Garcia.

Sports Brief spotted an interesting part after the former Bayern Munich superstar received his marching orders.

In a video posted on Twitter, the 2021 FIFA best player appears to make a sniffing motion with his hand as he left the pitch to the dressing room.

According to Barca Universal, that gesture could mean mean Lewandowski is insinuating referee Jesus Gil Manzano was on 'abused substance'.

Lewandowski could be suspended suspended for four games because of his gesture after receiving the red card.

Supercomputer predicts La Liga winner

Sports Brief earlier reported that a supercomputer has made a prediction for the final Spanish Primera division standings, after Real Madrid suffered their first loss in Spain's top flight.

Los Blancos suffered a 3-2 defeat to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Monday night, to leave arch-nemesis Barcelona two points clear at the top.

The loss brings to an end to the perfect start to the season for Carlo Ancelotti's side, and crucially means they stay second on the table.
