“Argentina is one of the candidates for the World Cup. They have a great team, with experienced and young players. They are in a great moment. If Messi is there, of course, he is one of the favourites.”

If Argentina wins the World Cup in Qatar, it will be the third time the South American nation will be crowned champions after emerging winners in 1978 and 1986.

Iniesta expects Barcelona and Messi reunion

Meanwhile, Andres Iniesta claims that club legend and former teammate Lionel Messi's return to Barcelona is still a possibility, Four Four Two reports.

Messi signed a two-year contract with PSG meaning he could become a free agent at the end of this season and Iniesta says that a Camp Nou comeback could be on the cards for the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Since Lionel Messi’s heartbreaking departure from Camp Nou last year, the Argentine legend's return has been much discussed.

Iniesta opens up on his struggles with mental health

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Andreas Iniesta wants everyone to realise that footballers are humans too, and they can have their struggles despite making mega money from the sport.

The 38-year-old midfielder, who currently plies his trade in Japan for Vissel Kobe, recently opened up on his struggles with depression and how he has been in therapy over his mental health issues.

Iniesta revealed he lost the joy he had for life when he was battling with deep depression, as nothing felt 'alive' to him anymore.
