The second half didn't get much better as they conceded a late goal to succumb to a 3-0 defeat. Benjamin Pavard scored in the last minute of the game to pile more misery upon the Barcelona team and fans.

Football fans rip into Barcelona’s defence after the shambolic first half against Bayern Munich

Social media users have slammed Barcelona defenders after they conceded two first-half goals against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Blaugrana had already been to the Europa League prior to kick-off after Inter Milan demolished Viktoria Plzen in the group's other game on Wednesday.

The Italian giants are six points ahead of Xavi Hernandez's team and cannot be overtaken by the Catalans thanks to their better head-to-head record, even if they beat group leaders Bayern, Sports Brief reported.
