  • Viktoria Plzen's Jhon Mosquera has disclosed his side is keen on securing an unlikely victory against Inter Milan on Wednesday, October 26
  • Despite not being in a position to progress to the next phase of the Champions League, Viktoria could determine who qualifies alongside Bayern Munich from Group C
  • Barcelona were held to a 3-3 draw by Inter Milan and will need Viktoria Plzen to at least hold the Italian giants to a draw, to keep their hopes of progressing alive

Viktoria Plzen attacker Jhon Mosquera has disclosed his side are determined to pull a surprise win against Inter Milan at the San Siro.

The Czech Republic minnows are without a win in their four Champions League outings and face yet another tough test against the Nerazzurri, who are in the second position.

Despite suffering relegation with two games to spare, Viktoria find themselves in a kingmaking position, deciding the fate of both Barcelona and Inter.

A fifth successive loss will ensure Inter a Champions League last 16 ticket, while an unlikely victory in Milan could resuscitate Barcelona's slim chance of leapfrogging the Serie A side to reach the knockout stages.

Ahead of the much-talked-about clash, Colombian attacker Mosquera revealed how his teammates have been receiving goodwill messages from a section of Barcelona fans, urging them to do their best.

“I don’t watch the news; I like to get home and be with my family… I know that people and some colleagues are realising that there are many messages from the people of Barcelona."
"They have also written to me, but we are thinking of ourselves, not Barcelona or Bayern - we want to win”, he said in El Chiringuito via Colombia Detail Zero.

Barcelona's UCL hopes hinge on Plzen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that five-time European champions Barcelona are looking formidable once again following their impressive back-to-back victories in the Spanish Primera division, scoring at least three goals per game.

However, the Catalan giants are teetering on the edges of failing to progress to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, for the second season in succession.

The 2015 Champions League winners face the prospect of exiting the 2022/23 edition, following their disappointing 3-3 draw with Inter Milan two weeks ago.
