Mr Amrani was proven to have began a process of self radicalisation in 2020 with prosecutors referring to his online activity as proof of his plans to launch an attack.

Messages were also read out in court which indicated direct communication with DAESH/ISIS operatives in relation to carrying out a drone strike in Catalonia.

Xavi admits Barcelona need miracle

Meanwhile, Xavi Hernandez has disclosed FC Barcelona will need 'more than a miracle' ahead of their penultimate game in the Champions League group stages.

Xavi's charges will lock horns against Group C leaders Bayern Munich on Wednesday, October 26 in a make-or-break encounter.

Barcelona have had a topsy-turvy campaign in Europe's premier club competition, failing to pick up a win in their last three outings after starting on a blistering note with a 5-1 triumph against Viktoria Plzen.

Xavi's job is at stake

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has admitted his job will be on the line if he fails to deliver trophies for the Catalan giants.

Xavi has come under intense scrutiny in the past weeks following a run of poor results, with his side on the brink of a group-stage Champions League exit and also suffering defeat in last Sunday's El Clasico against Real Madrid.

The pressure is mounting on the legendary former Barcelona midfielder to get his squad competing for silverware.
